Fire in the disco

It is too goddamned hot. I am going to die this way, this will be my end. It is 70 degrees celcius right now. Scientists predict that 52% of all human life in Toronto will be extinguished within the next 4 days. "Prepare thee for the coming days of pain" the preachers are already yelling, "this day hell opens up and swallows up all not tethered by conditioned air".

So I moved! It is cool and great and cool (other than the heat), but we won't have the internet until the 15th, which kind of sucks, but once we get it it'll be all "whoooo, so fast, I'm downloading EVERYTHING" and shit. Nice.

Also, for the winter, we have a fireplace and everything. I am excited. S'mores parties? You knows it.

I finished Lost, and I have to say, I don't know about their choice in casting Lou Reed as the evil Shaman who was watching over them the whole time. I did like it how they worked Courtney Cox's character from the opening sequence of The Longest Yard into the show at the last second though.

I will put up some pictures of the apartment once it is in a more unpacked state, we're still figuring stuff out. I also need to build shelves, how I build shelf? Some wood and then I ... hammer it into wall yes? Geniustown, population Keith.

New Fang

Just a couple of things, before I get to work for the day.

1) I am going to be starting a new portfolio with a blog integrated. Maybe not soon, but eventually. I'll update here with a link to that when it happens.

2) I am moving! On July 1st I'll be moving into a much smaller, slightly more expensive place further away from school and work. However, it is closer to everything else that I want/need. Cheaper food, books, art stores, printers, and all kinds of recreation. AND! I am moving in with Benjamin "Fighting" Nicholls, Kate"Chinese new year" Hudson, and Emma "something about bikes or the French" Allain, so that will be fun-city. Also, I'll have a wicked downtown place for FanExpo, which I am excited for.

3) I have been going to the gym 3 times a week now, and although keeping my diet in check is still a little tricky, it is coming along nicely, I think. I'm definitely stronger, and I can for sure see some development. Mostly it's just nice to be doing something regularly that is nothing but good for me. Now if I can just stick to the new diet I am trying out I will be a towering machine of pure muscle and beauty in probably 2 days, I bet. These things are instant, you know.

That's basically it for now. Nothing too exciting. Mostly Alicia wanted me to write a blog so I did. Did you know she is pretty great? I hear tell she may be the greatest, but don't tell her or it'll go to her head.

small run

So I'm moving, again. This time to place I'll be living for the duration of the school year, so that's a plus. I am in sort of a time-crunchy situation, however, seeing as I intend to be out all night tonight, and then I need to turn around and be ready to move, albeit next door, for about 10am tomorrow. It'll work out I'm sure, but I am gonna need to be pretty vigilant in my waking up and doing some running around-itude.

I'm also going to need to get a desk/office chair. That is going to be an issue for the next little while seeing as I don't forsee myself having the money/means of transport for either of those things until mid-late september. So that'll be interesting.

Two weeks though. Two weeks until the fantasticest event of the summer, Dream Theater/Zappa Plays Zappa/Bigelf/Scale The Summit extravaganza! I'm confused with anticipation

More on what I am doing later. I have a move to organize.

Jeremy Spoke in Class Today

Hey, so I have moved into 67, and spent a night there so far. Other than the fact that sleeping on my bed is like sleeping on the floor but worse, it's pretty okay. The shower is weird and the kitchen is small but those seem like nitpicky things to get mad about when I am only going to be there for a couple of months until I move into 69 in August.

Camping was pretty good. The ranger wanted to find a reason to kick us out the whole time (which she did on the last day because some raccoons got into our garbage) but overall it was pretty fun. There are large portions of the weekend that I don't really recall so that's good.

I went running last night with Rory and Andrew, and am sorry to say that I am way way out of shape. I had to stop like long before anyone else did, and I was pretty well dead after it was done, so that was kinda crappy, but all in all I guess it's a good thing, we just need to keep it up and stuff.

Conan is remaining hilarious.

I saw UP in 3D the other day when we got back from camping. Holy Shit, so damn good. I think it might be as good as Wall-E, maybe (at least in my books) better. Just everything about it was perfect, the colours, the characters, the landscapes, the music, the story, everything was beautiful. Pixar is easily my favourite movie studio right now.

Also, I don't remember if I've ranted about Mother Mother yet, but if I haven't, here it is. Mother Mother is a fantastic band, everyone owes it to themselves to look into their albums 'Touch Up' and 'O My Heart'. They're just front to back amazing.

Speaking of music, I think I am going to see Sonic Youth? I don't know too much about them but I've liked most of what I've heard, and the tickets were decently priced and I don't have anything else going on, so I guess I am down for that.

Gantz looks like it might be coming to a close sometime soon ... it's getting even weirder than I thought it could, which is saying something.

I've done a couple of sketches over the last few days on my tablet, not for any particular reason, just practicing different styles and stuff. Maybe I'll post a couple when I get home from work or something. I don't know.

Moving day

Gah! it's moving day! I could not be less prepared.

I am packing now, I have found a bunch of weird stuff I forgot I had. Strange.

So the plan is that I am staying at Sam's place for a week, working and stuff, and then we are going on our super sweet camp-stravaganza, and when we get back, I move into 67 Haynes for ... seven weeks. This is the place right next door to 69 Haynes (hehehe) which is where I am moving at the end of July with Andrew, Rory, and Jay.

So when I move into 69 (hehehe) I will be moved in for the school year, and then party house will be brought into existence.

In the mean time, I have to finish packing and moving. But that's not incredibly difficult seeing as this is a list of what I own :

A guitar
A bass guitar
A computer/monitor
A box of paper/books
2 bags of clothes

so that should be okay.

Anyway, next time I blog will be after camping (a time in which many beers will be consumed outdoors) so I will tell you how that went!

P.S - Andrew and I have decided that our summer comic project will be the first issue of a comic called Santania, we'll keep you posted.

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow

So I'm about 4 days away from moving into the village. I am so very, very un-prepared. I haven't had time to pack a single thing, and I've got an exam on Saturday so I can't really do anything but study until then. I'm at work right now designing calendars for the Club that I work for, and then I am going to a group study session for FACS. Ugh.

Anyway, I am going camping next weekend with Ben, Sam, Alex, his girlfriend Ruth, Rory, his girlfriend Linda, Katie M, Jay, Ivan and the others. It'll be sweet, drinking in the woods, huzzah!

On the me being depressed about breaking up front: I am still in the try to deal with it through absurdity stage, it's not working very well but, hey, eleven soaking wet turtles right?

On the music I am currently obsessed with front : Mother Mother, oh my god, I can't stress to you people enough how amazing they are. Just imagine a burger, with like, thirty smaller burgers as toppings.

Speaking of burgers! I won the slap bet! Hooray! I get to slap that fuck Andrew 3 more times (in my excitement, I used one up while he was eating a Baconator, it will be sweet, and just between you and me, there might be a slap coming up on camping weekend, we shall see.

I came up with a sweet idea for a comic the other day in my tired haze, I'll talk more about it later, but last night Ben made up an idea for a comic that is going to be an airborne clusterfuck of epic proportions, and I will be drawing up some concepts as soon as I get some free time to do so.

I am a mess.

Moving on ... over?

So I move tomorrow. After 6 long long years I finally get to move back to Toronto. It's kind of weird when I put it that way, it doesn't feel like I've been away that long. Weird.

My schedule is as follows :

8:00am - Wake up, brush teeth, get dressed.
8:30am - Make sure I have everything I need.
9:00am - Hopefully just wait around for a while, maybe eat some breakfast
9:30am - Start loading things into the van. Tetris ahoy! We have more shit to take than we have room for, so this will be the interesting part.
10:00am - Depart!
1:00pm - Should be in Toronto at this point.

So then we slowly get to moving our stuff into the apartment, organizing things, Sarrah needs to go get her YU card from the school, we'll probably eat lunch, and then we just chill for a while.

Oh, and then around 5 or so, Andrew and I will drop by some place in Toronto to get a big Light Table that we found for free on Craigslist, so that's sweet. It's a big sort of drafting table with a glass surface and two flourescent lights behind it. It'll definitely come in handy as a place to draw and work on the comic and what not.

SPEAKING OF WHICH!

The first 2- copies of Killing Time Issue #1 arrived today, and we are very excited. We will hopefully paw nthem off onto the hoardes of no doubt slobbering fans that await our arrival.

So anyway, Saturday is FanExpo, w00t! I had been waiting for quite some time for this, and although the financial situation right now means I can only go to one of the three days this year, I am sure it will be rad as hell.

Rad as hell.

Welp, the next time I update this blog it will be from my apartment in Toronto! I will try to include some pictures for those of you who are curious.

Ja Ne.
