I went to a place called "Long and McQuade" in Stratford and picked it up, along with a fairly decent (well, for now) Fender amp. Needless to say, I LOVE THIS BASS. I named it Babasslebub, seeing as it looks like it was forged by SATAN!
Yeah, so I've been practicing quite a bit lately, learning some easy songs to start. I think I have Down so far :

Feel Good Inc
Kids With Guns
This really generic "used by every pop punk band since 1994" bass line template
And I'm in the midst of learning Here Comes Your Man (Pixies) , Wraith Pinned To The Mist and Other Games (of Montreal) and Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie. I'm actually pretty close to having Ziggy Stardust down, I just need some more time to practice I think.
As for the rest of those, they are all INCREDIBLY easy, so it's not like I've actually learned a lot yet. I'm trying to focus on finger stretching and strengthening exercises for a little while as well.
Also in the way of news, I found a coffee like thing that I love! French Vanilla Cappuccino!

About fucking time you find a coffee. Soon it'll spread into other coffees, and maybe if this keeps up, by the year 2009 you won't have to drink out of a sippy cup. Maybe.
