The following five people are funny.

Well, I'm bored, and when that happens I usually do something stupid, so here I go!

Five people who are funny, and there's nothing you can do to change it

Number 1
- Mitch Hedberg

I guess to be accurate, I would have to say that he was funny. Mitch Hedberg came to an untimely demise in what I tell myself was a valiant attempt to rescue a baby deer from a burning acid factory. He was probably the first comedian that made me laugh without doing anything edgy or offensive. It really is a shame that he isn't around anymore, because we won't be getting any more gems like this :

"I want to make a vending machine that sells vending machines... It'd have to be real fucking big!"

He was the master of the one line non sequitur. Everything about him, from the way he looked to the way he delivered the jokes, to the way he spoke was brilliant and hilarious. I'd have to say that out of any comedian I've ever known about, Mitch Hedberg was the absolute funniest, without any bad jokes or any bad deliveries, Mitch Hedberg was the shit, and I think that we need to have one or two holidays named after him.

Number 2 - Dave Chappelle

I had never laughed at a "weed joke" before I had started listening to Dave Chappelle. As far as I am concerned, he is the best thing to happen to black comedy since Richard Pryor. There's just something about him that makes him so easy to love. He makes jokes about they typical "Black people are like this, but white people are like THIS" kind of stuff, sure. But he does it in a manner that is somehow still fresh, and still funny. And it's not the only thing he does.

Time and time again he has expressed his displeasure with the way that "Half Baked" came out, but I defend the fact that I would watch that movie over and over if I could. He took a concept like "Pot heads living in an apartment, who need to sell weed to get their friend out of jail" from something that most black comedians would instantly see as an opportunity to insert some stereotypical black people and white people, and let the hijinks ensue, and made it into something that everyone can laugh at (whether you are ashamed to admit it or not).

Number 3 - Sarah Silverman

The fact is, there aren't many funny female comedians out there. It may be sad, but it is completely true. Most women comics tend to make jokes about how "men do things THIS way, and women do things THIS way" or about the awful challenges that women go through and how men don't understand it at all. This is not the case with Sarah Silverman.

It surprises me how many people I talk to who can't tell me who she is. Given, she hasn't done a lot on her own, but she does have a TV Show (The Sarah Silverman Program) that is HILARIOUS.

The thing I like most about her is that she can do jokes and make fun of things that most guys are afraid to. She is completely unafraid of what people will think of her, and she doesn't have that girly sense about her that makes people go "hey, why are you talking about having sex with cheese?"

And lastly, what sets her apart from all the other female comedians that have the attributes I just mentioned - she does it without being a big fat lesbian.
Number 4 - Jim Carrey

Now before people start saying "But keth! Jim Carrey is a sell out! He tries to be a serious actor! he's not funny!" I would just like to mention : you are all stupid.

Jim Carrey always has been and remains, one of the flat out funniest people in film. I can't think of a comedy (with the exception of The Cable Guy) that he has done that I don't like. The fact that he's pretty much the same character in all his comedies doesn't change the fact that he looks funny, he acts funny, he sounds funny and he is funny.

And yes, he has tried some serious roles, and yes, some of them have sucked, but you know what? a lot of them were good, too. Look at "The Truman Show", I REALLY like that movie. It's one of the first semi-serious roles he did, and it was damn good. And what about "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind"? sure it's a little bit smart for a lot of people, but it's a good movie, and I certainly don't regret buying it.

And lastly, Bruce Almighty, his great big comeback movie, is one of the highest grossing comedies of all time, and with good reason. He continues to make me laugh, and therefore has earned a spot in my "Not shipping to Pluto" escape pod.

Number 5 - Emo Philips.

Nothing I say about Emo Philips will fully give you the feeling of how good he is. I am simply not good enough with words to describe to you all the profound innocent perverse-ness that is Emo Philips.

The most I can do is suggest that you head over to YouTube and search for him. He is truly a wonder that needs to be seen to be fully understood.

As some kind of proof, let me leave you with this quote from him -

"I'll Always remember the last words of my grandfather, who said: 'A truck!'"

Haha, yeah man, I agree entirely.

Especially as for Mitch Hedberg, the man simply died much too young. Every March 29th, the day he died, we should just sit down, listen to his comedy albums, and OD on heroin. It'll be great.

Haha, yeah, we'll show the world how much we care.

And the hospitals how much heroin you can get in you with a bicycle pump.
