Start wearing purple

Okay, like usual, I have found a new band and have decided to take it upon myself to force some of you to listen to them.

This band is called Gogol Bordello. They are a "Gypsy Punk" band from NewYork, and they kick so much ass it makes my face bleed in anguish that I cannot see them live. They consist of a Ukrainian Front man/ guitarist/ vocalist, A russian fiddle player, A Russian Accordion player, an Israeli guitarist, an Ethiopian Bassist, an American Drummer and a Scottish/Chinese and a Thai/American dancer.

I can't say much about them really, a lot of it has to come from actually seeing and hearing them. If there was ever one thing that I could make fun of Zack's mom for, it was her gypsy crap. I'm not so sure anymore.

Anyway, here are a few HIGHLY reccomended videos of them to let you see what I mean.

Start Wearing Purple

Not a Crime

60 Revolutions (not best quality)

Holy yes.

Oh yeah, speaking of my mom and crap you like, man, Uriah Heep was like... her favorite band in college.

...Maybe you should be sharing music with her instead of me.

Tell her she's the best.

Furthermore, listen to Gogol Bordello you miscreant.

I hate Uriah Heep...

..and what's "Gypsy Punk"?

Anybody who hates Uriah Heep doesn't deserve an answer to that question.

Oh yeah, by the way, I deleted that Uriah Heep thing you sent me. It skipped every once in a while, which fucking blows. I didn't hate it or anything but it certainly didn't "perfectly overlap with my musical styles" or whatever it was that you claimed.

Though it is worth mentioning that I have to listen to something several times before I get a really good feel of it. And I'm not gonna bother with anything that's constantly skipping. Oh well, it's not as if there aren't a hundred other bands that I need to get into.

I do like "stop wearing purple" but it doesn't make me want to drop what I'm doing and start liking gypsies.

I have no idea why the Uriah Heep stuff is skipping for you, I have the exact same files as they were ripped from a CD, maybe something happened en route to you... tiny little digital hooligans came in and ...keyed ... the ...bytes.

And yeah, it took me a few times listening to it to like Uriah Heep. And I'm the same way with stuff like that. The first time I ever listened to of Montreal I wanted to kill myself. But now I fucking love those guys. Although of Montreal is really REALLY an aquired taste, and I don't expect ANYBODY to like them before hearing them 3 or 4 times.

I think the only band that I have ever and currently listen to that I liked, without question, first time around, is Dream Theater. I even had doubts about Symphony X and Opeth. Hell, it took me weeks to get into Porcupine Tree.

It took weeks to decide you liked Porcupine Tree? That's a little fucked, if you ask me.

Well, generally, I suppose I understand what you mean.
