So I've been trying to get down a solid budget for university, and here's what I've managed to come up ernewith:
Rent: 415/mo x 8months = 3320.00
Cable/Internet/Phone: 30/mo x 8months = 240.00
Food: 50/mo x 8months = 400.00
Various expenses: 50/mo x 8months = 400.00
Total estimated expenses: 4360.00
Now, if I keep on making what I'm making, I'll be looking at having a dismal 1200 or 1400 saved, which eliminates say 1400 of that cost, bringing it down to 2960.00.
OSAP will be giving me (roughly) 11,000.00 (or so they estimate). About 7000.00 of that is gone to tuition, leaving me with 4000.00 or so.
4000.00 - 2960.00 = 1140.00
And the estimated cost of various expenses from my program is about 1000.00.
It's gonna be a tough one, and it's gonna involve a lot of careful planning, but I think that if I make sure everything goes smoothly with the financial office I can probably survive the 8 months I have ahead of me come september.
Oh christ.
Anyway, I've seen a lot of movies lately. Wall E, Wanted and Hancock were all fantastic, and although I am whining about being poor, I do not in any way regret seeing them.
I've been doing some writing and planning for a short story form graphic novel that sort of serves as the introduction to the universe that I've been thinking up since the 7th grade. It's short, maybe 15 pages, but it's going to take a lot of work in the art department, and a lot of fine tuning with the writing. I'm not gonna get into too much detail here, but it's sort of introducing the world that all of my graphic novel ideas takes place within. The Sin City to my Frank Miller. It's a long term project and I don't expect to have it done or ever drawn any time soon.
In Killing Time news, Issue one is done! I've just been spending a lot of time getting organized for next year so I haven't had a lot of time to get around to it. I just need to optimise the images for Web and ship them off to Zack, which I should have some time to do soon.
Then comes printing, oh god, the printing.
Also, I desperately need a new job.
