Blog Post 2 : Electric Boogaloo

So, I just sort of realized something that I forgot to bring up.

I was playing my bass yesterday, and I realized that ever since I first bought the thing, ever since the first time I picked the instrument up I have always automatically played the same melody, the same 4 chords one after another, I have changed the tempo and the rhythm from time to time, maybe played it with some distortion or played it slapped, but it's always been the same goddamn chord progression, it goes like this :

G-2222-3333-2222-2222-----------
D-0000-0000-3333-2222-----------
A------------------------------------
E------------------------------------

I don't know what names to attribute to these chords, but I know it's always those exact 4.

I never gave much thought to it, but I wonder why it is? I don't know much about writing music, so maybe if I did it would make more sense to me, like maybe that's just an incredibly common progression or maybe it's like just the most obvious in it's key or something, but I'm not gonna pretend to know why I do it, I just do it.

Remember in the last season of Battlestar Galactica, how Starbuck has that song stuck in her head and she kept playing it?

I bet I'm the angel of death, that's the only viable explanation.

It was extremely interesting for me to read that post. Thank author for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.
