I need a new computer. Bad. Like, really bad. I'm in a pretty crappy place right now technology wise. I am at the point where doing anything freelance at home is almost out of the question, and it's sort of daunting. I'd like to be able to take on a lot more work, but beyond simple illustration or design at low resolutions (for web or something) I am pretty much out of luck. I was hoping that by this point I would be able to buy a new computer, but I am not quite sure right now what I will be doing.
I have my eye on this beauty (the lowest end 24 inch one), which is ideal for school and such, but all said and done is going to set me back almost $2000.00, which is a ton, a shit-ton in fact.
Aside from that, it's looking like my cell-phone might crap out on me this year. This is, in many ways, my own damned fault. This is primarily because I treat it like it's invincible, and I bought a sort of a flimsy tempermental phone to begin with. That won't set me back nearly as much (looking at ones for like a hundred dollars or so) but it's still a cost I'd like to avoid if at all possible.
Most of my clothes are also starting to be too big for me, which I suppose is a good thing, but it also means that I'm going to need to spend an obscene amount on clothes. And by obscene, I mean not very much at all because I tend to buy the cheapest things at every possible opportunity. So I really don't have a right to complain there.
However, on the less whiny side of things, Progressive Nation is in a couple of days, which is super awesome. Ben and Dan have yet to tell me when they are getting here, but that's not entirely out of the ordinary. And then the night after is the Breeders show at Lee's, which I am less excited for, but being less excited for it than I am for ProgNation isn't saying much. It's going to be awesome.
Also, I think I may have finally started to make some head-way with this new comic, I hope I manage to scan some in soon.
